There is a section in 485 application to list your spouse and dependents. Talk to a good lawyer to see if you can still add her. Or you can live in india until you figure out a way to bring her here on student visa or something.
Wouldn't the OP and his wife need some kind of visa to live in India until he figures "out a way to bring her on here on student visa or something"? I did not realize India was such an easy transit country especially for people of non-Indian origin.

Does anyone know whats the protocol for the Bill to be passed???
After the Floor Debate the bill goes to White House or again there has to some measures taken from Senate???? I know there some initiative taken in Senate (last year)..
I am just trying to check if there is any timeline on how and when this bill will be passed.. :rolleyes:

1. House has to pass it..
2. Senate has to pass it..

We need to prevent that....that ought to be priority # 1....recapture can happen in parallel .
Last year there were not unused visas.
Worldwide Employment-Based preference limit: 147,148
Actual number of EB visas issued: 154,458
Check Immigrant visas FY 2007 (http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/FY07AnnualReportTableV.pdf)

Don't u think that if X has contributed $1,000 and I have contributed $20/$0 I might be temped to rethink that I need to contribute more. It is not comparing $100 vs $200.
Think about it, any donation made by philanthropists are made public, i am not saying we are philanthropists here since we have a cause in mind. The reason is to prompt people to contribute. If this is not a key agenda IV then please ignore this post.

We all know why U and me visit the site, Information. And in the process if you find any thing not so important to you, just ignore and move on...did this thread of asking to send letters made other threads invisible?
Just to piss u off, i am requesting again to all the folks to send letters.
Well, you have not pissed me at all. I did what IV had asked in one month back. I had sent my 2 letters (me and my wife) 17 days back and collected another 12 letters from friends and send them too. I had contributed what ever IV had asked until now, what ever it may be.
I am sorry, but just a note can baffle you guys and you put all the -ve comments to the post, then sorry to say you guys cannot take any constructive opinion from others. And I think I did no wrong in asking Chanduv to stop posting innumerable threads just for one cause.

isn't ability to pay normally satisfied directly via paystubs and W2 when you have worked for the company. esp if company has already paid you for the period of say 1 yr then ability to pay is proven no?

I applied EAD Renewal on April 26 and then got RFE on May11 saying that they need 2 photos, I have send them and they resumed process on May 20th. Finger prints done on May28th.
Recenly I called USCIS and I requested for expedite, but today again they sent me RFE, I dont know what is this for I am waiting for hard copy.
if any on is in this situation please suggest me.

If they ask for police clearance .. you give it..
Unless it was a felony that requires certain jail-time or something it's not always counted against you.. remember .. purpose is not to exclude shop-lifters.. they got plenty of those in Canada but rather identify and filter out security hazards.. you might need in person interview.. but it should be alright.. I know even US immigration allows folks like that.. so can't imagine Canada being more stringent..
I guess, we will wait for any response on this front, fron the buffalo office..

What is the phone number you are calling USCIS on? Can they give you a receipt number without the checks being encashed if your I-140 was approved at the same service center?

In my case, my lawyer has issued the check and I don't have access to it. He handles thousands of cases and cannot check check cashing status for each one just for receipting. So, I decided to call since I have some travel planned and wanted to predict if I'm going to get the receipts before that.
