IV Core and the rally volunteers deserve a HUGE round of applause for the amazing organization of the rally, everything that went into it and the logistics, countless hours and sleepless nights spent. Funds, There are more ideas than funds. For every new campaign, plan, we need funds. So it is an ever needed commodity. We can do a lot and lobby effectively, we just need more funds, plain and simple. Inspite of several hundreds contributing, it is not enough. Remember IV is a non-profit, so every penny is accounted for. People handling money (core IV) are sincere, honest hardworking people on work-visas, they have much to lose from not being accountable. And the most important thing is, please take a look at these hard-working IV CORE PEOPLE, please. Some of them have put thousands of dollars (I mean 5 and ten thousand) into this effort. I am not counting personal expenses, travelling to DC, lost work hours etc.
So your $100 at the bowling arena, or $50 at dinner or $35 bouquet wont get you much farther, but your recurring contribution to IV will.
I am a GC holder now and there are many people like me who are also would like to continue to contribute some money from time to time. I will get in touch with all my friends to contribute something even after GC to fight this noble cause.

Wait a minute…. You guys have a problem if someone else is getting GC even though you guys very well know how much difficult it is to wait for the long process to finish. I am completely stunned to read some of the posts on the forum as these posts are always looking for parity with this or that group. Some posts say “why undocumented are getting GC after paying 10K as we have been paying taxes for years”, some posts simple whine as to why L-1 get to file in EB-1 etc etc. Is there an end to this unnecessary complaining and this urge to always looking for parity, sometimes with the privileged and sometimes with the under privileged? Some posts are always looking for “fairness” whatever "fairness" means to the individual situation, and then, blame the rest of the world around for delay with their green card process. I think we ought to grow-up and stop complaining about someone else getting their green card. We ought to stop complaining about all the wrong things that may be going on our lives and we should get serious about making phone calls and meeting with the lawmakers. I do not intent to start a flame war and my intent is not to offend anybody either, just trying to point out that we could be happier and effective if we stop whining and complaining. It would also help to create a more positive and constructive environment on the forums.

According to an IO i talked to recently the background check has 6 stages which includes name check.
Sometimes for verifying the names and address they send it to local USCIS office for verification.
So it may not be for interview. But you could be in the last stages of the background check and will be approved soon IF the dates are current for your PD.

Increasing of visa number will help every one including who are waiting for I 485. More visa number will make priority date move. How come they are not interested?
Suppose IV decides not to focus on I-485 filing but some other issue. By this analogy, all members with interest in I-485 will leave.

We have been through this discussion already and not everyone agrees with the idea. Some argue that it's not easy to do yet others only believe in hitting the home run and nothing less is acceptable.

Just to add, this is the risk of not working for the company after getting the EAD. The employer can easily prove that the person had no intention of working for the company. AC21 cannot protect that person.

I have a Ph.D and 2 M.Sc in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. I got my H1-B and I also have been employed for 3 months now. My company policy required 3 years before sponsoring me. I do not want to wait that long to start applying. How can I tell if I am qualified for EB-2 with National interest waiver? Is that the only way for me to get GC?
I also want to mention that I have 5 proceedings papers but not journals. I also do not have any citations for my proceedings papers.
Please advice me what is the best senario for me and if I have any chance to apply for EB-2 with NIV.

My friends chq got encashed. He is a July 2nd filer for TSC.
Did he file 485 at NCS and then got transferred to TCS or it was filed at TSC itself?

USCIS is going to make a PDF file and put it on the web site for 24 hours. Anyone who has Adobe Acrobat Reader can pull it, print it and that becomes his green card...Officially this will start on 8/1/2007
On 7/31/2007, USCIS will send out a revised bulletin that............the server which hosts this PDF file has lost its internet connection, it can only upload 50 KB of data and USCIS used that in the month of July so.....you can imagine.

EB2 is current except for China (1 Jan 03) but India is unavailable.
EB3 varies bewteen Apr 01 and Nov 02 depending on the area

I never said school can force her to maintain F1. All I said was if she wants to be on F1 (for whatever reasons) she needs to comply with school's policies. Also her maintaining or not maintaining F1 is immaterial to her legal immigration status in the country (which is safe by the virtue of pending I-485) it is just that she will cease to be on F1 status (her current non-immigrant status, just obtaining EAD doesn't mean she has abandoned F1 status, she needs to use it)
Also, she will no longer be on any non-immigrant status when school cancels her F1, from that point on her status will solely be based on I-485 and its outcome.
School can't force her to continue on F1 visa. Only thing she need to send school is her copy of pending I-485 receipt and thats it.

I did not feel like signing along for two reasons: we are not US citizen yet, and I consider myself citizen of the world and will always be. I do not aspire to become citizen of the United States of America.
Even when Americans sang their national anthem in a church, I felt not right. Churches are not supposed to be linked to states. There should be no country boundary with in the Christian world.
There should be no country boundary within the world we want to be build either. If the United States go to war with your country of birth, who will you side with? Will the United States trust you?
You have a point - yes, we are all different nationalities, as a matter of fact we even waved the American Flags.
The only reason I can see is - we have embraced America. Here we are fighting a political battle and we do not even have the right to vote.

I got my Wife's and son's passports renewed at NY. I printed the phtos on the computer. My wife's i mailed it(got it back in 1 week). My sons i went to NY. If you go before 11AM, you can collect it back same evening. I did this almost 18 months ago.
