The first thing to do in call your attorney and ask him to be with you when any uscis or ice guy shows up. Right to an attorney is a basic right. Do not think that u will offend ice officer if u have u'r attorney present. Do not think that u'r charming personality will put u in the good books of ice. If I were u, I would not do anything, without consulting my attorney in such a matter.
Also, keep bank stmts and all recent paystubs handy, along with past exp. Letters and degree/certificates. Copiew of h1 + gc petition/approval would be good to have.

I know one of my friends got his GC in April this year EB3 India, PD Aug 2001.
So they did approve some cases, very few though.
Is this something to be concerned of, Absolutely. USCIS should release the monthly statistics of approvals in each category.
We need USCIS to publish
a. Future projections - projection of monthly cutoff dates every quarter
b. Historical data - A histogram of 485 approvals in the last quarter based on PD buckets (May-June 02 would be a bucket).
c. Case updates like NC clearances and so on, without having to go through infopass and waste everyone's time.
d. Timely updates on processing times for cases like I-140.
Given that the three databases are being consolidated into one, I don't think it should be difficult for USCIS to publish this data.
You can't just say "Hey, we made every category current in July 07, now the dates are going to go into 10,000 B.C?"

I don't think the analysis for EB2 C&I is accurate.
Current does not mean beyond your PD. There is no mention of PD's being current anytime soon.

It is similar. The key words are "Design, develop, test .....maintain.... etc.." Look up the O*net code for 15-1031.00 - Your L/C will state this occupational code. This has a broad classification.

Hello All,
I suggested this in my last two posts and I am suggesting this again. Emails , faxes to Rep will not create visibility of the problem. What we need to do is, do something big, like a DC rally again. One of the benefits behind doing this will be, everyone in this country i has their eyes on DC for presidential elections. Hence more visibility for us.
Secondly the topic of these three bills is hot, if we don't do anything now, it will turn cold, and then will be forgotten.
What we really need is a huge volume of high skilled workers in DC, not just a handful. Please let us all get together in DC again and push for these bills. We will get a lot of visibility. How about sending flowers to congress members?
Please let us all act on it!!

We have been calling and talking to ppl all over new england area.
But we have hardly been able to get a convincing number of ppl to attend the rally.
Have you watched the bus thread for New England Area. 26 votes, can you believe that.
We definitely need to get more innovative. I dont know what ppl want, so they can be motivated.
Sometimes i think being educated is a curse, as ppl become more scared and are fine adapting to the system.
Look at the ILLEGALS at least they came out openly. They dared to come forward and i am sure they will be rewarded sooner.
LEGAL ppl who have nothing to fear are then also they are more scared to do anything. So this is the right time for me to express my opinion LEGALS ARE FOOLS.
Please dont be mad at me, i am just frustuated with ppl responses, but one thing for sure, i will keep on motivating ppl in whichever way i can do.
Ok Guys! Enough of the negativity.
I took up your challenge. Though I live in a relatively rural area and initially felt I couldn't go due to bad flight connections etc. I decided to just go online and look for a flight and see how it goes. I found a good deal and booked it just now. Though it is just for one day go 17th and return 18th evening, I felt it is our final shot to be heard until 2009.
It is a flight to Baltimore airport which I understand in 30 miles away.
Now my question is, Is there anyone who is willing to host me and/or drive me to the rally?
FYI those of you in Michigan, you can get really good deals on northwest to baltimore.
Any takers????

Let us see how many IV folks are in this boat. It is really unfortunate that you guys have had to wait. I think there are others who may have applied later in EB3 and due to different state labor, they got their GC in a couple of years. Now they maybe preparing for citizenship while you are still waiting for greencard. The labor backlogs have created this situation.

Brother, your idea is good but practically it is very difficult.
Do you see a donate progress bar at the top, it took an entire month and lot of pushing to get 10,000 US$ in donation.
People are not willing to donate, many have questions about credibility and what work is being done, some have lost entire hope and hence not willing to donate.
It is like chicken and egg, we are asking people to donate to see change, some are saying change is not there and donation does not make a difference.
If it is so difficult to collect 10,000 US$ a month how can your plan collect 5 million ?
If someone is going to ask you the following questions what are your answers,
1) If i donate 50$ what is the feedback (in terms of info, progress) that i will get?
2) What will you do if the administration thanks us and takes the donation and gives it off to a non-profit education organization. (giving donation does not mean that they will do something for us). Then what do we do.
Instead can we not use that money to lobby for our goals.

I came through SFO a few days ago. I was prepared to leave if told that I could not stay, (having lost my job last November and not having found another). I was asked if I was still working for the petitioner, I replied truthfully that I was not and that I was looking for another job. I was then told it was OK, and "welcome back".
I've got a code I biometric notice eventhough I did not apply for and EAD. What might this mean? Thanks to USCIS I lost a 2004 PD ...now its a 8/2006 PD.
In the meanwhile I have a Phd offer from a top UK university and am planning to take that opportunity, even though I have an admission to a Master's here with full scholarship.
