Well H1B can bring their spouse using H4 .. so I guess GC holder can not bring their spouse .. I guess this is a hole in the system.
H1-H1 couple can support status of each other (H1-H4 or H4-H1)
H1-F1 couple can support each other (H1-H4 or F1-F2)
But
GC guy can't support status if H1 spouse lost job and became out of status
GC guy can't support status if F1 spouse becames out of status
GC guy can't bring spouse from home country
UNLESS SPOUSE/Kids goes through complete F2A visa process (several years)
It can make life of GC spouse miserable (of course GC guy also). Imagine GC-H1 marriage, H1 out of status after loss of job. After loss of status, H1 spouse has to return, but GC spouse will try to remain in USA for own status and in hope to bring spouse back after getting citizenship.

Got following email today on my daughters case today. NSC July Filer. EB2 I Mar 2006.
All our cases show this status now.
Any idea what happens next?

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office. USCIS cannot generate visas out of thin air, nor can it waive the per-country cap. Its job is to implement the law, not to make them. It does, however, have the ptoential to do a LOT of harm, thanks to its notorious inefficiency. It is a telling statement on our current sorry state of affairs that USCIS is the least of our concerns at the moment.
Sometimes I think that rather than writing to these politicians ,we should write to USCIS.This retrogression is caused by them.They didn't wait for any bill to be passed for this retrogression.There is no use of talking to politicians,they don't care.
I know that USCIS will not care either but USCIS did it out of nowhere ,till sep2005,everything was fine for them and suddenly in oct 2005,they put us in backward direction.Now after a year and a half ,we are at the same spot,waiting for the visa bulletin and staying depressed for a day or two after seeing it.
I don't know .I am so mad at everybody.

Mahatma Gandhi, bless his soul, had the balls to stand up and fight back. On the other hand, majority of our community live in the fear of their own shadows. We should stop comparing our sorry selves to that great man when we lack an atom of the courage he had.
We don't want to goto DC Rally in March as it's too cold. Summer is too hot and in the spring we have family vacations planned. We deserve the punishment we are receiving for our inaction.

In our case, the primary applicant has received FP but the dependent has not yet received, has this happened to anyone?
I called Customer Service and now they ask that we wait 180 days from the time the case is transferred to NSC before enquiring about it !

there are few famous talk show hosts in KABC radio (Southern california), atleast 5 of them, who have larger listeners and they have devoted one hour everyday regd immigration issues (until they kill this CIR bill because they dont like amnesty issue), they do usually their programs from morning 8am and 5pm-11pm, so I request IV core team to contact their producers using their 1-800 numbers and explain the other side of story i.e. documented workers and how they suffer and what relief this bill can provide us.

hi,

Also, there is no rule that says citizenship is not available to people who do not work for the sponsoring employer for a certai nperiod of time after GC approval. It is just good practice to stick around for a few months after approval, but it is not law.
You will have no trouble. Change your status from bittersweet to sweet and have fun. Also, good luck finding a new job.

My lawyer says "If we file the I-140 based on the LC-PERM, we would interfile it into your pending AOS, so your AOS would be pending based on the pending I-140 (NOT the withdrawn LC Sub)."
Is it possible to interfile if the PD is not current? My pending LC SUB and the PERM LC PD, both are not current. Please confirm whether it is true or not. This will help me make my case.

You dont need any transit visa if you are going to India from USA after legal stay in US.
