You should be ok. The purpose of COBRA is to have a continued coverage. usually insurance is month to month, so the coverage nessasarly doesn't end the day you quit. All COBRA does is allow you to pay the next months entire premium and keep the existing coverage.
I tried using COBRA last year and in my case the gap was 3 months and my monthly COBRA payments were about $900/month, since I did not have any ongoing medical conditions or foresee any like pregnancy etc, I went for short term private insurance to fill the gap.

- I leave the job-A on 1st of the month.
- join new job-B on 2nd of the month (very next day) but new employer wants me to complete 30 days before providing medical insurance

This is the attitude of our guys. So desperate. The agents get irritated because of this.
Your application is already there if you have the delivery confirmation, what is the point of calling them? They will issue or reject when they get to it, by calling them they are not going to go searching for your application..
Please be patient the decision to accept or reject is not going to change by calling them for a receipt notice!

Its useless... How many senators, their voters or other decision makers watch those kannada, telugu or even rediff???
Try to contact FOX, CNN, ABC etc.. that will be helpfull.
It is for all those people (the indian diaspora) who do log on to the online versions of their hometown newspapers to check local Indian news, it might be a pleasant surprise to see the news abt the rally out there!!!
Secondly won't you be inclined to be a part of the rally when your mom or dad friend or a cousin read the news back home and asked you " are you a part this movement" imagine all the non commital people saying ummm ummmm food for thought bloke!!:rolleyes:

The point to be noted is that EB3 India was not commented upon i.e. EB3 Other Workers is different from EB3 India or EB3 ROW. I don't want to commit the deadly sin of predicting but there is hope that EB3 India might move albeit slowly :p

EB2 I should get more spill over from EB2 ROW that what it got last year. The number of labor approvals is very less after June 2008( someone posted it earlier in some other thread). EB2 ROW is always current and I think the usage should be low this year.

Slight clarification to the new regulations:
Based on the "If they return from the USA after having used the visa" exemption, you don't need a transit visa for the USA-Germany-India leg. But for the return you'll either need an AP+transit visa OR a valid USA visa.
This exemption (and regulation) is the same as that for France. And I just traveled to India and back (in Dec2010) through Paris on expired USA visa and therefore know the above to be true (at least for France).

If you really looking for long term solution then you should focus on action items that core members asking us to do...Have you done any of these?
members will file 485 whenever they can and whenever they want to. I don't think even single person should buy this idea.
Sorry not mean to hurt you but this is just bad idea.
Most of us are concerned about short term goal of getting the application to uscis as quickly as possible , but think of the end result of whether your application be accepted if we rush, the uscis can come back and reject at any time from any date as it happened to Eb3-other workers. In any case there is a very good chance that your wife will kill u ;)

Even if I back date my marriage (as advised) , How can I get my future wife to USA?. I cannot get her on depend status as my H1-B (I believe) got canceled on approval of GC.
Issues I see,
1. The back date of marriage must match to my stay at India.
2. I did not visit India in the last one year.
3. I applied my I-485 in the August 2008 time. So (I must mention my marriage and dependents in the application). Which I did not . So this does not work.
See the troubles I have now.
P.S: I did not want to cheat USA Immigration Dept. Not a good practice

If i were in your place, i would have arranged register marriage in july itself :) after seeing the august visa bulleting then apply for spouse I-485 on the 1st day of August 08. This solves 2 problems, the one currently u r facing and the other chance of applying I-485 for your spouse. Later, you cud have followed ritual marriage as arranged by your parents....

Only reason I am taking PMP course is because my company provides assistance in fees if its related to my project or helpful to company growth.
I really preferred to do MBA from college instead of PMP but due to company policy had to stick with PMP.

Great news. What will be greater is that not only these "students", but the people who employ them, the people who run the "university", the ones who gave accreditation to this "university" should be all loaded in a ship and dropped-off on a hitherto uninhabited island in the south pacific, with a live stream of their life made available post drop-off.
They can all happily screw each other on the island.
BTW, let one of the right wing radio shows get a hold of this news, we will not hear the end of this. The next logical step will be Steve King professing an end to F1 visas.
