I second manoj's demand, we need representation. Power to single members of IV, let our issues be heard. This will help resolve the H4 dependent issue. Since future IVer would both be on H1-b. Thanks to this idea :D

This happened with me too yesterday and I wondered why it happened. I did get an alert message asking for this 'Trojan Horse ' to be put in vault'. It happened exactly while I opened this link and went to this site. Someone should send email to the owner of this blog to alert him.
My computer crashed several times after that and I had to reinstall OS to get rid of this virus. I am now in the process of installing all softwares again. All my strong anti-virus defense systems failed to stop this virus.
I got identical symptoms yesterday.. Have Mcafee..but after clean-up and rebooting my laptop won't come up..
Only reason am even writing is from my guilt of getting upset and blaming my young daughter who used the laptop just after I checked IV site. Other than getting the laptop back and make amends with my daughter have to see impact of data loss.
Hope this really does not happen again...

People do not agree and have different ideas - sometimes to the point of personal hurt! - this is natural. They have different interests and even when they have shared goals, sometimes their paths to those shared goals may diverge - this is natural, too. Yes, differences, discussion and divergence can lead to a final separation and then two or mroe new groups are born - and it can happen naturally and it does not have to be rushed or forced through censorship and persecution. But sometimes debates and differences actually help the whole group to stay together and find a better path or a better solution - in the heat of the discussion and in the fight of the dualling arguments a new idea, approach or solution is born. I do think that a lot of the most contentious discussions on this forum are actually the most important and interesting ones because those are the oens that will cut to the heart of the problem and reveal the real depths of the issues. Suppression of diverging opinions is the hallmark of dictatorships.

All our members in the state chapters are verified and by posting information on state chapters we are ensuring that sensitive information is being passed only to trusted and verified members. There are lot of members in several state chapters that are very active but they are not as active on the IV boards. it is only fair to pass info. first to people who work hard on every action item on a consistent basis. State Chapters have Gate Keepers and we do not add anyone without verifying but remember the Gate Keepers work full time, travel for business and have families so it takes anywhere between 1 to 5 days before a member gets his request accepted. We do not have the luxury of having a dedicated Gate Keepers to our state chapters 24 x 7. I add members to so.cal chapter only after verfying them. I have the time currently to send an email and ask people for info. if they did not provide info. that is mandatory but I might not have the time to do that in the future. I might not be responding to people who do not provide mandatory info. I only have 24 hours in my day just like everyone else. Hope this helps

I am in similar situation. Originally applied to NSC, got Xfr'd to CSC. Now CSC after processing EAD/AP Xfr'd my I-485 back to NSC.
ANyone in similar situation has rcvd Finger printing notices? I assume Aug 17th filers at NSC are ahead of us?
Also, i received the EADs in mail, but haven't received the AP even though online status reads AP mailed a week back. Any idea how long it takes to get AP after it online status reads approved?
Please share any information.

Prompted me to take some action... proof that such posts are indeed useful. :)
Called USCIS and opened a service request:
- over 30 days (July 2 filer), no biometric appointment for self and spouse
- Alien (A) number different on I-140 and I-485 for primary applicant (me)
- Got a referral number, call back if you don't hear from us within 45 days.
Customer Service rep could not provide any information about name check, etc. (Said IO will be able to provide that if they contact you... ).

However this smacks of unfairness as well. See this comment on Greg Siskind's blog (http://blogs.ilw.com/gregsiskind/2007/07/service-centers.html#comments) in response to the news about TSC holding the applications while NSC's been retirning them and some July 02 packages have been returned as well.

Where did you get this news? If they partially returned some cases received on July 02, it is very very very unfair for those got returned. They were the first getting in the line and now they have to wait at the end of the line??? If USCIS is going to treat the returned cases that way, they will face more lawsuits to come. If they are to hold later on cases, they have have have to allow the returned cases to be sent back and put in front of the line, with delivery notice as the proof of getting sent back.
This is very annoying notice indeed.

best is to find another job..and do a H1 transfer premium processing..since the RFE was with his company and not his credentials he should be safe..
My i94 expired on May 18th 2007,filed for extn around May 11th..then I filed for a H1 transfer on June 25th before the H1 extn was approved,we dint have the H1 reciept notice too as NSC was delaying issuing of reciept notices..
thankfully it was approved though the earlier H1 was not extended(this is called H1 bridging...)
but it may raise flags to the Immigration officer,cos the i94 expired in Dec..rfe was issued..better to consult attorney instead of taking wild chances..
trust me 1000$ speak/work a lot in these issues..

I just read the summary prepared by IV core team -a job well done.
I like to think that being illegal is better than legal as per the provisions in CIR!
What do you think of H4-spouses who can't work whereas those illegal can now apply for a work-visas!
What do you think of parents who were not issued visitor visas for silly reasons? Whereas those who by hook or crook got here are being given work-visas?
How come the illegals are guaranteed a GC within 5 years and the current legal immigrants are NOT?
How come the illegals can work and the legal residents on certain visas can't?
How come the illegals can work for any employer while H1Bs can't?
I am not against giving these benefits to illegals if that's how it needs to fixed. But what about us, the bright and good folks!!

I'm on H1, I decided recently to buy a house after I stayed more than 5 years in this country and gave an offer to purchase it . I will drop now as I'm feeling unsecured in this country of immigrants and with it's protectionist policy against Indian Talents in this 21st century. It will also influence all of my friends who are also potentially looking to buy houses . I will not buy any stuff and influence all of my friends which costs every H1 holder to lead uncertain state of living in this country.
My friend Cyrus Mehta reports on a disturbing incident that occurred last week at Newark's international airport. Apparently CBP officers got hold of the new Neufeld memorandum on H-1B workers at third party work sites and decided to start applying it on their own. Aside from being contrary to established procedures for revoking visas, CBP officers made inappropriate comments and issued threats that cry out for some form of disciplinary action by DHS: It is then no surprise that the outrageous singling out of Indians since the New Year waiting in the line at Newark and other airports by CBP...
