Dont worry...we are not alone. Infact, we (I and my wife) are going through this phase as we speak.
1) As someone else pointed group insurance is the best option so far in my research.
2)** Chk out this site: http://www.aim.ca.gov/english/costs.html I am planning to apply soon hoping that we will qualify
3) Call a OBGYN and tell them that you dont have insurance, generally they will suggest a community center kind of a place where you can get started with prenatal care, such as re-confirmation, ultrascan etc
4) Call the hospital for the payment plan and get into it.

Same thing happened with one of my friends. He went to India immediately got married and brought his wife to US, the GC status would not update at the port of entry system that quick so he took a chance. You can give a try to schedule an appointment at the Chennai embassy for dependent visa (through your H1B). My friend spoke with a reputed law firm (I dont want to mention the name here but you all know 'her') who advised this and he got lucky.

Why are we rambling on and on about this? There is absolutely no connection between India buying fighter jets and immigration. That was what the OP wanted to know. If the immigration processes will get affected because India excluded Boeing and Lockheed. There seems to be no connection between the two issues. Period.

If you don't stop saying comments like this, you'll totally alienated people like me. It is a global issue, doesn't matter where you are from. People from all nationalities are affected. Oh guess what, it wasn't just Indian nationals who saw no movement.
Or, if you truly feel this way, I'll take my donations elsewhere, and I'll stop meeting with lawmakers on everyone's behalf.

I dont know about other members but it is hard for me to blv that IIT's and IIM's will come to US for a masters degree coz they could not find a job in India or they could not get an admit in a master's program.
If that was the case people would have stopped going got IIT's/IIM's. Why will someone work so hard to get to the top most program - to not get a job and then pursue MS from US OF A????
I think the IIT's/IIM's come here they MOSTLY (not all) come here for a purpose....research/money/better life/whatevet.....

No I did not, I put H1B transfer and joined new company later he found out and i told him over phone i joined another company but my H1B with his company is still active.

Its not only for illegals but its also for kids of legals that aged out due to retrogression or backlogs in visas...plz don't be selfish with view points like "it doesnt help us so im gonna oppose it"....instead help the children who aged out due to the visa backlogs!!! if there is an interview scheduled for you in the future, you will have to prove the intention that you will leave the job you have at that time and start working for the company who sponsored for your I-485.
it will take strong persuasion to convince that leaving your current job cold turkey and going back to the old employer.
i hope someone who has gone through this before can help you better...
also, you have to think about the cooperation that you are counting on from the old company. people come and people go.policies change, companies may decide to act differently 3 years from now... what guarantee you have that they will support you no matter what happens in future. what if there is a hideous RFE and they chicken out???
i think it is always better to declare your change of job intention with AC21. get help from other threads and furnish as much information to USCIS as possible while writing AC21 letter...they will treat you better if you are upfront about it... remember, complete transparency always is appreciated by a fellow human being...dont be scared by the conspiracy theorist blaming them for blatant mistakes...they do make mistakes however, but it just takes following it up and clearing it with various avenues one has if he/she gets the right consul of a good attorney...(incidentally i am not one....so please consult with your attorney before taking any steps)

I am traveling this month end to India via Frankfurt. I am on AP. I checked with German consulate in US and officer told me we need transit visa both ways (going and coming back). there are no exceptions. He confirmed the same twice when I went in person to get Transit visa.
I would rather listen to German consulate office rather than interpreting stupid sentences on German consulate web site. So please do get Transit visa with 2 entries.

Nevertheless, I did not take transit visa, and with visa stamping expired in March 2010, I travelled with AP on Lufthansa from IAD to BLR in December, and returned in Jan 2011, and nobody even mentioned the word "transit" anywhere along the route. Lufthansa staff is very knowledgeable about AP, both in Wash.Dulles and BLR. In fact, In BLR I saw that even Air France also does not require transit visa for Paris and allowed people with AP to board without transit visa. So folks, dont waste time and money on transit visa. Nothing is going to happen , unless you miss your connecting flight in Frankfurt, in which case you will not get to stay in a hotel and would have to spend the transit time in the airport.
