the effort to address the ugly country caps and retrogression in general shouldnt depend on someone else's misfortune - why should we profit from some other familiy's heartache? the system is atrocious and needs to be reformed - even if you get your gc tomorrow, hopefully u wont instantly join the group that wants to shut the door on those following-& pls make sure whateevr u sire too doesnt turn anti like the nutcases that i've come across

I got my EAD today...Even i received my Wife EAD also...Mine is sent to NSC on july 2nd...I received EAD's from Texas Center...I think my application was transferred to Texas...I have approved I-140 from Texas...Are receipt numbers for EAD, 485, AP are in serial? I haven't received receipts yet...I filled G-28...my attorney did not receive my receipts...I don't know what is going on...

Isn't the UK issue different.
They are trying to change rules retroactively. There is no such thing going on here.
A similar stance would be if in midstream: lawmakers changed retroactively that only if the job makes more then $150,000 it is qualified for EB2; only companies with revenues of over $20 million can apply for greencards. If they changed the rules retroactively in USA which would preclude people who are already in line; then you would see massive amounts of protests.
However; what is happening in UK is not the same issue here. Same thing happened in Canada a few years ago when they changed the point system and wanted to do it for people retroactively.
Here, with retrogression in the background, a lot of mess is being cleaned up and a lot of enforcements are coming in place to curb visa abuse. It is quite interesting to see how enforcements are being done and how things will be handled because on one side job market is booming, on one side you find big and small consulting doing alll sorts of things and utilising visas, on one side you see locals (Especially older people who lost jobs and find it diffucult to find jobs because of their age). Overall, it wwould bee interesting to see what will the course of action be.

I think it was Collin Powell that help passed the 7th year extension and one year extensions there on if LC is pending for a year..this was passed since there was a crisis with delay in LC adjudications....so we are at a point that we need such a relief soon...we are heading towards such a crisis point..soon...EB releif should happen soon...I think this was a single issue that was handled and relief provided and EB matters should be handled in a piece meal manner....(I may be wrong may be it was a part of AC21)...also oppenents are saying why piece meal handle when CIR is in place to delay any kind of a relief..

Yeah i did have a I-94 with my H1 Renewal. But when i got my vis stamped in Canada recently, my original I-94 was take and i was issued a new I-94(white Card) at the border post. And the new was issued up until my passport expiration date.

JOb title/Description is significantly similar. I will inform USCIS. I am really glad we have this option so we can make choices on what is the best place to work for us rather than get beat up by fate and long timelines and stick to someplace where one is not happy or progressing anywhere. Ok I have started exploring other alternatives but still I don't want to let go my efforts which I put for completing couple of subjects so I went back to U21 global and they said that they can give me degree from University of Melbourne, if I opt for it. So now I want to evaluate getting degree from University of Melbourne is ok? It seems they just now got AACSB accreditation.

Friends, my question was timing of porting priority date, to put the question in one line as below,
Earlier I-140, PD Mar 06 from company A if i file new I-140 Eb2 from company B, i am aware that i can port priority but the question is when this can be done, when I apply new I-140 or when after I apply new I-140 or after i get my second I-140 approved.

Can you get AC 21 advantage if you just wait ( NOT WORK in case of a friendly past employer) after filing 485 ?
Is it necessary to work for 180 days ?
If working for 180 days is not required then, one can work for someone else on H1B & file 485 from the past employer. After 180 days of filing, one could use AC21 to move from one job to another.
Can some one give expert advise ?

Hi,
I renewed online on July 29th. In the online confirmation receipt, it was mentioned that i would get a biometrics appointment notice. So i didn't send photos along with supporting documents. It is been more than 30 days, i didnt get any biometrics appointment. So i called USCIS and the customer service person filed a service request for biometrics appointment. Yesterday i got an email response from USCIS as below:
"The status of this service request is:
A biometrics appointment notice is not required for your I-765 application. Your case is being processed within our normal processing times."
Now i'm confused about what they are going to do for photos? Will they send a RFE for photo? Should i wait for RFE or Proactively send photos? If anyone send the photos alone?
