The day I got the email ( April 9 ) from TSC, I received an "unknown" call on my cell phone. I was in a meeting and was unable to take the call. Couple of days back I received a similar call and it was from an immigration officer @ TSC. She chatted with me regarding my old 140 for 2 minutes and told me that the priority date has been ported / used. I think the nice lady wanted to let me know about the approval and since I did not pick up the call generated an email from the OLD TSC system !!!!! . There is no update on the online system after wards.. I will update once I get something in regular mail..
Thanks again for all the good wishes and hopefully things will improve for all of us soon.

Maybe not. I believe that the perception is that Americans would prefer to have no bill at all than a bad bill. If people learn that the House is the one trying to kill what they considered a bad bill - the amnesty one - so they that should not perceive all Republicans as a rotten after all. I was just thinking, the wastage of visa numbers we see, is that basically due to the per country quota. The rule that no country can have more than X% of GC's in a year, would mean that even though there are visa's available, they cannot be alloted due to that per country limit.
Anyway the smaller number of application is good news.

Thank u so much for the info you've collected. In my case, PP expiry is sometime in August. So no issues with that. And I assume the I-94 date issue is applicable only if I used the AP instead of AVR while coming back.
And yes, as per Murthy's site, I'd be carrying the telegram with me to show the IO if needed. And yes...you are right. Its only good NOT to lie to the IO at the POE and promptly tell him that I had been to Canada for landing purpose. So after more than a month of sleepless nights, thanks to Immigration Voice looks like my I 485 application is back on track.
A recap of my situation:
Last month I got an email from USCIS-CRIS stating that my I 485 was withdrawn. After being in this country for close to 10 years and in the immigration queue for more than 7 years why would I withdraw the application ??? I did not withdraw my application !!!
It took me more than a month to find out the reason behind the withdrawal..trust me it was not easy..and guess what ....It was my Attorney who had withdrawn the application in Error. Now what ... I call USCIS multiple times.. talk to many different IO's .. some of them patient and try to help.. some extremely rude.. but all of them had only one thing to say... they cannot help!!..... I get an Info Pass... no help there either.. I set up an emergency meeting with my attorney (one of the large Immigration Law Firms) .. nothing...they accept their mistake tell me that they will do all they can .. but no assurance that they will reinstate the case .. limited forward movement.... things look gloomy and bleak..no one can help me.
Then I called Immigration Voice on the number that is listed on the site and left a voice mail. Promptly got a call back I spoke to a Core member who understood the gravity and urgency of the situation and swiflty moved forward and got in touch with their contacts in the government. The Core member also put me in a conference call with the person who was going to look into my case, I was so relieved that I could explain the situation first hand.
I got a call today and I was told that after evaluating my case my file has been reopened and they have mailed an offical notice regarding the same and I should get it in a few days. *Fingers crossed until I get this notice in hand *
The IV core was extremely sensitive to my situation and were very responsive and extremly helpful. I cant thank Immigration Voice enough for helping me resolve this issue in a quick manner.
I have registered to be a recurring contributing member and I intend to be an active member of this group.
My lessons from this crazy experience are:
- Never trust your attorney, always ask for a copy of any letter/document they send to USCIS on your behalf
- There is no organization besides IV out there that is looking out for the interests of the Immigrant Community.
- We need to strengthen IV in all ways we can, we need to be active.
- And as so many members have already said "We are IV." If we want things to be better "WE" need to do something about it.
I urge members who are still contemplating becoming active members to evaluate their options and to become active and contributing members of IV.

FYI: I got my I-140 approved on 07/06/2007 after 7 months of wait. This just makes me think that while approving I-140 they didnt even looked at my H1B. The processing of these applications are completely separate. Since my I-140 got approved recently, my employer might not have lot of issues with IRS or INS. ??????????? what do you guys think.

Its weird but found out the reason for LUD change. I had done address change in June 1st week. But didn't get any notice from USCIS. All the hard LUD and wrong message of case transfer was due to the confirmations we got in mail about the address change.
But intrestingly got soft lud on mine and husband's 485 today morning. Don't know what is happening. We have applied for my husband's EAD renewal . But his EAD application had already soft LUD after Finger printing. These LUDS are after almost a week and on 485.

A few days I called Comcast to disconnect CNN and CNN headlines from my cable. The Comcast representative was surprised as to why I want to cut CNN. She transferred me to her supervisor.
