There is the freedom to change jobs and apply for a new TN each time. There is no 6 year or any sort of time cap - TN can be renewed indefinitely..a TN only costs $50 to renew for each year and can be filed without an attorney by mail. No need to physcially go anywhere.
Drawbacks.
1. Spouses/Dependents get TD which is as restrictive as H4
2. There is a fixed list of professions and minimum education qualifications that you/your intended employment HAVE to satisfy to qualify for a TN. Experience cannot be used to substitute lack of education..

Hmmm... Not sure what you mean about my opinion and mindset. I was only responding to your "accusation" of SL government destroying "competitiveness" by providing some facts openly known to almost all Sri Lankans but not in the outside world. Those facts also give you an insight in to the root cause of the problem. You are free to form any opinions about me. Just remember that there are two sides to each story. Look at both sides before you make a judgement.
As for your wish wanting to see Sinhalese and Tamils living as equals in a peaceful sri lanka, we all share that sentiment with you and Thank you for that. Hopefully that day is not too far.

Very well said... I totally agree with this. I am sure DOS know how many application they can expect by making the date current. But they don't know how many of these could be approved by end of this fiscal year and they don't want to loose visas as they have in past.
This is the reason they made all date current. Even if they receive 100K application on July 1st, I don't think they will make any changes unless they approve 40K visas. They will at least have to wait till August to push back dates.
And in worst condition even if dates going to move back on July 2nd, can you anything about it? I would say just do whatever you can by getting your application ready. I am sure somebody will come with new rumer saying thay if they receive tons of application on first day they might do lottery..

It doesnt say anywhere that they can change PDs in the middle of the month. What they are saying is that based on data collected from the "total number of files at point of approval" they can change PDs. But it doesnt say that they can change PDs in the middle of the month.
If anyone has a URL or source of information that shows the USCIS stopped accepting petitions in the middle of the month even when the dates were current, PLEASE POST THE URL OR SOURCE.
Otherwise this is bogus information coming out of certain law firms.
And this community is so scared that they have started seeing what they believe rather than believing what they see. The cynicism and psychosis has reached such alarming levels that people are seeing things even in Ombudsman report that dont exist.

This is a good idea but it won't help the housing crisis or the economy. It may not be viewed as fair to change the quota simply for those with money to pay a "fee." However, buying a home can put a floor under the housing prices and support the economy.

Yes it can be corrected at this time. You can answer the RFE yourself and explain you mistake or ask your attorney to do so. I would suggest that contact your attorney so that you can prevent any future mistakes.

Could you tell at 140 level does a candidate needs to submit all the previous
H1 Approval notices.
I couldnt submit my previous 140 approval notice since it was during 2000-2001. How important is the previous H1 B approval notices for a 140 approval ? . I submitted the current approval notice which is from 2006-2009

Just for folks who aren't aware - there are 500,000 high skilled legal immigrant already in USA who are waiting in queue for numbers of years to get their Permanent Residency. Thanks to the limited visa availability based on country chargeability (birth of applicant) and inefficiency of immigration system, these highly skilled, tax paying and law abiding immgrants are waiting for their Green Card (Permanent residency). Some of them have studied here, worked here for years and US is almost a second home to them. They are sitting on pile of cash, Yes - PILE OF HARD CASH. They wouldn't buy house or any big ticket items until they get Green card. Why not give these people, who are already part of our system, conditional Permanent Residency who buy houses. Trust me. I was under the impression that it will be 3-4 years before I see green, but the reality is almost true for me now. Similarly, EB3 folks would get some news by next year. Who knows, the government will change and we have seen how keenly Obama wants a change ;). May be recapturing visas provision will be considered next year and everyone until 2006(EB3) may see some green. We never know. It's all magic and lets hope for the best. :D
