Filed I-485 on July 31,2007. Checks cashed on Sep 10th and received Receipt Notices for me and my wife through the attorney yesterday. I am in the EB-2 category with PD: Oct 2005.
However, on both of our I-485 receipt notices, the Category shows up as "Unknown" ...Has anyone else faced any such thing...
Please advice.

Why don't you find someone who is in similar situation ? i.e. who is on EAD or on H1. There several websites that can help you : shaadi.com, jeevansathi.com, bharatmatrimony.com. Now I'm not endorsing these sites. Just providing you with some options you can look at. Man accept it - life is tough. We have to play the hand we have been dealt. I don't think the state is involved, but its the institution that makes its own set of rules. All the community colleges in the state of Arizona accepts both H and L status as proof of residency.

I efiled EAD and AP for my wife and myself over this weekend. My earlier documents had been filed at TSC. In answering Question 11 of EAD, I "assumed" Dallas TX Field office and USCIS TSC are one and the same. So I selected Dallas TX Field office as the answer.
When the receipts were generated for our applications they were generated for National Benefits Center with MSC as the prefix. This got me confused and I asked this question (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19323) on IV. This evening to research what is going on I started a dummy application and saw what I had done wrong. I canceled the dummy application.
I am writing this to alert anyone to not do the same mistake. I am mighty concerned. I will call USCIS tomorrow morning and ask on what will happen and where should I send me supporting documents. I will also get hold of some local attorney.
In the mean time what do you guys think of our situation. Any experiences, ideas? Please share. This will be long night :-|

I would prefer to have quality of members over quantity of members. (I am only talking about dedication of members). Am I being judgmental? Maybe I am. But I believe my logic is right. You see, the person who does not want to register is also being judgmental, unapologetic, and he probably believes in his logic. He is entitled to his opinion (as I am), however, IV should not sacrifice its integrity to get members who do not believe in it.
I agree, we are an organization and at this point we haven't even asked people to compulsorily donate for Advocacy. I would say, not registering on IV is being extremely narrow-minded and being a crab (benefiting IV?).
Thousands of IV members have created an account on that site, so what is the problem?
