Hello myvoice23 ---
How come your case is assigned to IO inspite of pending NC. I saw a post which said that NC should be cleared before 485 approval. They are planning to finish NC by Feb, 09; for all applicants whose NC is pending for than 6 months.
I am stuck with NC...my PD is 09/2004...

Urgency of getting a receipt is that once you get the receipt, it means that USCIS has 'accepted' your application and it will not be rejected for lack of initial evidence.
Why do you keep calling them everyday? What is the urgency of getting receipts?

First of all make a complaint about the employer to the INS that he is not paying... and make decision, US is not your entire life. If you have confidence you can do anything anywhere in this small world.
In that case its better to go to India and lead a much better life than staying in this pathetic state here.
Obviously there's no meaning for an immigrant to stay here away from his home country to be trested almost like an uneducated person.
Living like this is not only bad for one's self respect but is also certainly illegal for the employer.
Its people like this guy why companies liek Infosys etc abuse the visa program and pay less to guys they bring from India to US.
In that case its better to go to India and lead a much better life than staying in this pathetic state here.

I was watching the program 20/20 on ABC called Myth, Lies and Nasty Behavior today. It was like an investigative journalism program.
One of the segment interviews Lou Doubs and shows how he is incorrect in his assumptions and how his arguments are faulty. Let the media do the expose Lou Doubs thing.

I applied for I-140, I-485, AP and EAD on 8/15/07. I got my EAD and the case status online got updated accordingly. But, for my other three applications I get the following errors:

You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
* Case Status Retrieval Failed
* This Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center.

I got receipt notices for all 4 applications on 10/16/07 and have double-checked my receipt notices for case # for typos.
Is anybody else in the same boat?

If that is the case, then why is it that all immigration attorneys are asking us to stay with our current employers citing this "Intent" thing?

What a weird system - even for E-Filing (supposed to be online system- easy to organize), we see random approvals. Hope someone realizes and makes the system organized better...

I read the document and here's what I think is the important part:
In a subset of these
case, the FBI name check request that been pending for more than 180 days.
This means that only a part of those 47k applications are pending for more than 180 days. This doesn't say they will approve 47k in March.
Why mid March? Well that's the time of the month when the VB will be published so I'm curious to see how the April VB will look like.

You and I have identical PDs.
Maybe you should get all that have similar PDs as you to do some campaign on IV. Tracking will not get a GC any faster. I believe time can be better spent by doing something together.

I think as a next step I will contact my Congressman after the Feb dates are released and we are still current. Do you know if it makes more sense to approach Congressman or Senator for this ? Also should I approach only 1 rep like 1 Congressman or approach both my district congressman and 2 state senators ?
We are even more screwed because since our dates are current we can not even get 2 Yr EAD or 3 yr H1 extension but you have to renew both annually.
Please share your experiences.
