For a second after seeing your statement i thought some is getting what i am saying but the smile at the very end destroyed that illusion

I am not happy or sad about the memo. If H1b program is tightened or relaxed I will not be impacted anyway. Infact if more Indians are coming here more beneficial for Indian community.Simply my view is if H1b is regulated to minimise fraud the entire H1b program will get become legitimate and Increasing the cap is possible in future if needed

Seeing Sep 2008 bulletin I felt happy:). I presume in October 2008 bulletin the EB2 India/china Priority dates go back. But its a mild retrogression for a short span of time. After that the dates start catching up current again. EB2 India becoming current is inevitable.
We need a legilation change for any considerable movement in EB3 India. I am presuming in the next two years there will be considerable changes in EB category immigration which directly relief EB3 India.
mpadapa has given almost exact count on EB limit for 2008.

I don't know what % of that group consists of H4 spouse of H1 folks. But i believe a good percentage of those applied through the TOEFL,GRE route.
Anyone knows of statistics for F1 visas per country? This might fill in some gaps here. My impression was some countries send more F1s than others.

Exactly, why is India never an option to go back? Our economy is booming. On July 2 after USCIS announcement, I was ready to go home, I had had enough of the USA.
Many years in US and all we have to show for it is 25 lb bag of immigration papers!! And struggling to maintain status!!

I know on a humorous note I was thinking people who are married are worried about their family problems.People who are not married are worried about when they will get married.Don't know who has time to worry about some politicians marriage on top of that during elections time.
Ultimately everything boils down to corruption. Huge money is going down in the pockets of big media houses, it is so damn obvious...Hindustan times, IBN & NDTV carried pictures of Priyanka Gandhi's children for 3 days on the front page, I never saw pictures or anything on Chandrababu Naidu, Yedirappa, Badal, Gehlot, Shivraj Chauhan or for that reason anybody....these kids are more important than our grassroot leaders ? The family is talking about "Rahul kee Shaadee" and the whole media is printing that, nobody's asking them where were you and what you did in last 5 years ???

i consider Mathew Oh,the most considerate and highy respected.His Q&A's are very individual centric but still answers those questions and posts those on his site.He provides links to other sites like immigrationportal.com though both of them are in immigration business(Simply Amazing).And he was the only one who was helpling us or showing real concern during s.1932 fiasco.Simply an Oustanding guy.Next comes Rajiv khanna since he never moderates the forum or censors other immigration sites in the forum.And for his lawsuit on behalf of all EB immigrants in 2002/2003.
And Regarding s.1932,it was posted on the Murthy site as breaking News :eek: after a week i believe that the Bill wasn't passed in the senate/house.It was a Joke of 2005!! :D

And also add the amount we are paying on regular basis to law firms to talking to their para legals, mental stress and percentage what contracting companies with hold along with amount we are losing because we are not in stable situation to invest in things like real estate.
I always has that question what is the real difference, hear people sayinig more taxes less salary and all that but don't know the actual difference yet.
Will appreciate if someone can shed more light or post a link.

These Unused Family Based Visas are from 2007. These Unused Family Based Visas of 2007 would be added to the following year (2008) Employment Based Visas.
The Unused Family Based VISAS from a perticular fiscal year made available to the Employment Based VISAS of the Follwing Fiscal Year. And the Unused EB4 and EB5 VISAS of a perticular fiscal year would be made available to the same year's
EB1 category.
If I understand correctly, there is no mechanism for unused EB visas to spill over to the following year's EB, but the law allows unused FB visas to spill over to the following year's EB ?!

You don't want to give any credit to 'Modi' than by your logic, Chandrababu Naidu shouldn't be give credit of 'Andhra' turnaround, Vajpayee shouldn't be given credit for Infrastructure turnaround...In India Politics & Politicians are so important, until they are pro-work, nothing works. UPA govt's attitude was sit & watch for Orders from 10 Janpath, so all of us know how they performed..
One might ignore land-scams of Naidu and support him. One might ignore fodder scams of lalu and support him. One might ignore the bribery cases on tape of vajpayee's office and support him. Because they have positive changes to their credit. But how does one convince oneself to support the so called human standing on dead bodies waving a flag of development.
Dude we are considered the cream of the crop who think clearly. How can we hand over the reigns of future of our sons and the well being of our daughters in India to a person who supported the rape and murder to young girls and destroyed livelihoods of thousands.
Imagine our christian friends trying to convince the jewish friends that they support Hitler because he is development pushing leader who is also church going, non smoking and that they do not support the side which actually supports rape, incarceration and murder of thousands who scrap out their living in the country. There is nothing like supporting half a person. You either support all his deeds or you dont. We or our kids will bear what we sow today.

This problem has arisen out of a desire for the labor but not wishing to give the immigration benefits due to concerns which are not always convenient or comfortable to state.
If H1b was also a quota system, this would all be a moot discussion. Since it is not, and we have an unlimited L1 program we have this situation.
A few points are truly ridiculous. Anguilla with its 5K citizens has the same quota as India or China? How does that promote diversity. If every Anguillan applied in EB2 their quota would not get filled. Yet India has more diversity of religion, language, caste and virtually anything else you can imagine except perhaps ethnicity. Which brings me to the main point, which is it may be inconvenient, and it may be uncomfortable, but immigration has, does and perhaps for the foreseeable future will have racial undertones.
I guess with Dems in control, that H1 quota could happen soon...:)
