The point of the thread is that many people now think that cost of american dream is greater than the opportunity, and the balance is tilting in favor of other countries. Everyone makes their own assessment. No point in getting personal about it. Just a suggestion..using phrases like "suck blood out your body" will just reduce the effect of your argument.
And Do you (canadian wanna be) have any clue that to get respected salary and position you will be forced by illiterate Canadians to have "Professional Engineering Certificates"... It will suck blood out of your body for 5 years... So just do not read "Greener Side" of Canadian Immigration... I know it may not be applicable to all but more or less most of will have to face the same music in their careers. My all Canadian friends and relatives want to be Americans.. Only some of them practically could proceed for that.. After some stage of life it becomes hard to move families.. That is the reason they are facing now to take decision and simultaneously do not want to live in Canada anymore.. If you have 101 fever it will take 1 month to have Doctor's appointment... GST.. Higher taxes.. statistically there are chances "Most of members of this forum - Canadian Wanna Be" will have less promotions and/or increments in salary eventhough they will find themselves most skilled wherever they will work. Top posts would be the dream for most of you guys unless you start your own business.. if you understand what I am trying to tell... In USA it is not that way.... How about everyone who came up with this idea on this thread. Why should IV core or murthy or someone do this ?
Does any one on this forum happen to know an approximate dollar amount that would cost for if we (IV team) is planning to proceed further with this class action law suite on USCIS?? the reason I am asking for is if we have known dollar amount/target amount in hand it makes it easy for all to start contributing towards this target amount and proceed further with law suite.
I am sure someone on IV team would create a separate bucket for this specific class action law suite task and keep track of amount that's been collected...

If someone dies at ur home, to get the govt doctor come and give you clearance to take the body to burial it takes thousands of rupees. Police need no less either. Else your loved one will be waiting for those ***. If you have to claim ur loved ones insurance to take care of expenses during his death, offices play u around... They just want more money!!
I see people changing faith to get free money... its not abt faith but division in our own people. We like foreign cars, foreign made netas, foreign faiths... foreign jobs... oh #!?***

Some of the posts here about Canada are nonsensical and based on pure myth. If one can't make it in Canada then one cannot make it in any other G8 country other than the US (where things are relatively easy) and their home country.
Many top US companies are expanding operations to Canada. Its begs the question of why they would do that if the US already exists and there is "nothing" in Canada. Why would someone subject themselves to an indefinite lifetime of indentured servitude and unease over some green card which with the ever worsening circumstances of the US economy does not have bright prospects considering it might take 5 to 10 years to get a GC? The US dollar continues to drop in value day by day yet some do not ask themselves why it is doing so. Even the Canadian dollar has made some of its highest gains against the US dollar recently. China continues to lend the US billions of dollars to an economy which is severely indebted that it is inevitable taxes will have to go up significantly in the next couple of years. US gas prices are predicted to hit $4 a gallon this summer. The truth is that the US too has major problems but some are quick to attack other countries without all the taking into consideration the glaring and gloomy outlook on the future of the US.
For others it is not entirely about the money but the peace of mind one has. One cannot equate the value of freedom to money which is what a Canadian PR affords one who comes into the country not to mention the opportunities. Those aimlessly attacking Canada and making ridiculous claims about the same, probably have never been to or lived in Canada before. If you have the right experience, qualifications and are well spoken there will not be an issue getting a well paying job in Canada.
The following are just some excerpts from the CIA world fact book, which by the way is a US government agency which pulls no punches :

Modi was like OK and then he goes 125 year old(budiya) Congress is not able to understand the problems of current day India.So vote for 30 year old BJP.
In response to this Priyanka did the most dumbest thing, she goes about asking Media folks and Amethi people if she looks old?(kya mein budiya lagti hun?) Do Sonia,Rahul look old ,thus playing directly into the hands of opposition.
BJP said when we are talking about Congress party these people are talking about their age.So Congress is Mataji,Putri,Putra(Mother,Daughter,Son).
This one is quite interesting...........

SRK says - it is a procedure but it isn an unfortunate procedure. Which in my opinion is true.
I did go through secondary inspection once in Atlanta, GA back in 2004 and it was kinda absurd. My name did not flash on computer but here is what this officer told me "Something wrong with the Chennai computer they have not uploaded your visa information. Did you really get this visa from Chennai Consulate?". Well, being a software engineer, I did understand that it is a system glitch but what can I do? I showed him my i 797 and all documents including EVL etc..... and he said i have to go through secondary inspection. Then at thesecondary inspection they asked me if I picked my luggage, I was taken aback because u r allowed to pick luggage only after the clearance and I said "no". they had a separate "officials only elevator" to baggage claim and asked me to go through that and bring my baggage and I did that. They asked me to open my bags and I did that. Then asked me which service center approved my h1b visa? I said texas. they looked up on their computer for a while and then took my i 797, tore the i 94 portion folded it and stapled it along with the white i 94 card and said I can go. But I decided to get some clarification and I politely asked the officer, why did I have to go through this? She politely said "It is a process". I asked why did she tear the i 94 portion of my i 797 and staple it to my passport? Do I have to keep it and what is the significance. She wanted to get me off her shoulder without asking questions and said "Yes, it has to be there, it is a proof, thank you and do let me know if you have any more questions" and smiled.
While we all debate that procedures are followd in best interests of national security, at times we must also understand what these procedures are and how do they help.
Some argued that because of tight security another 9/11 could be averted.
Some argued that SRK is no VIP.
In my opinion SRK is "no matter what" a star and an icon. Those who trash him, must understand that people like him have capabilities that u or I lack and thest why he is such a star. They can win hearts of people "children, adults, youth" they can entertain you and make you happy and on top of it al for them it is life and career path and they are best possible candidates for ambassadors for anything ranging from peace to disease to unity etc.... everything because of their charm.
SRK managed to get DHS officials to speak and atleast give a statement which we as a community never managed to but we accept all this as part of life and think why should this guy not be treated like us.
Folks - it is not easy to become a star and gain all this popularity - it is challenging which includes a lot of dedication, efforts, luck, timing and so many different things people have to do. Life of stars is not that rosy as they "smile" and wave to people. For them every minute and second is a challenge - they are not like American Lawyers or Doctors who have ABA or AMA who control the flow and competition always keep theem rich.
The world is a small place and we all have to wake up to reality. Prof Gates gained such traction because he was having contacts with the president. Now if not for his incident, and not for the President vouching for him we would accept "it is how things are and live with it"
We accept everything and say "it is how things are" at workplaces, or anywhere we put ourselves down and say "It is a part of culture" we have to live with it.
The issue with us all is "We are highly educated and talented" but we never learned those lessons in schools where we stand up for causes - we are ready to blame and bash the victim - this is what exactly we do because first thing - we do not respect a victim, as it is not "us" and when it happens to us - we tend to live with it and not discuss it or do something about it.
So folks lets stop it here. Stop blaming SRK or CBP. If you do not want to see his movie, no one is forcing you to.

#1 Landed in Texas in late 90's at a friends place. Friend took me to get SS# next day, dropped me at SS office during his lunch time and came in the evening at SS office to pick me up. While waiting outside, in a span of 20 minutes, had two people (one desi and another a colored person) approach me trying to befriend me...obviously I fall for it, second day and I meet such a nice person , offering me help if I needed. etc. Asked me for my cell or home #, I did not have any (was only going to stay at friends for few days and then going to Phoenix), so, i managed to get their business cards and I promised to call them.
In the evening, friend picked me up, told him what happened, he laughed and said "they already got you....unbelievable..hit in just one day of landing... I asked him to explain what was going on, he said he explained me everything. He mentioned that his brother-in-law will be at his home in the evening for dinner (an IBO), and asked me to tell him that I was not interested as I wanted to focus on career first. My friend blinked at me, I told him that I had a business proposal for him as well. He was surprised and asked me what it was. He and my friend were astonished, my friend and his wife were laughing. BIL said he was going to talk about the same thing to me, I said, I am tired and if he already is a IBO, I will not talk about it at all, as I would rather sleep (jet lag). Got rid of him easily...
Incident #2: After moving to Phoenix in 8 days, landed at my Desi consultant's, got a 2 Bedroom townhome shared by total of4 people. One of them was active in AMWAY...asked me if I wanted to go to a business meeting followed by Tea/snacks. I told him I could come only if he stops by grocery store first as I wanted to buy stuff. I did not have car so needed his help for groceries etc. I went with him and few of other FOBs that he had managed to "capture" (New Bakras for him). Went to his friends house who was a new IBO and hosting tea party/(Bakra kato seminar) first time, so he had lot of food/snacks etc. I enjoyed the snack, slept in the mkt. speech. ate good food. Told him that I was already an IBO when the form signing ceremony started, friend was mad why I did not tell him, I told him that I should be mad at him for wasting my time and not telling me where and what this meeting was about. Had a fun at his expense :-)
in couple of weeks moved to Mid North East, where I did not face any AMWAY/QUI guy/s.
In the evening, friend picked me up, told him what happened, he laughed and said "they already got you....unbelievable..hit in just one day of landing... I asked him to explain what was going on, he said he explained me everything. He mentioned that his brother-in-law will be at his home in the evening for dinner (an IBO), and asked me to tell him that I was not interested as I wanted to focus on career first. hey stop the nonsense. u r trying to argue with everyone. u r playing with people emotions.
why don't u just stop the arguments over here. just leave the dead person in peace.
if u don't like him just go and talk with someone else who also doesn't like him in ur family or with ur friends. i think u r spending too much time bashing YSR and his son.

I am not arguing, I am making my point that YSR does not deserve any sympathy, for he being a corrupt, factionist gunda, land grabber who has killed numerous people.

Interesting. I think there would probably be around maybe half a million or so H1Bs currently in the US, probably more , working in the IT industry. Many if not most would work for these consulting companies; ranging from the large one's like Accenture or TCS to the grocery store offices in NJ. All of them have the potential to be affected if this memo is strictly enforced.
While I would be glad if all the shady consultancy firms that have wrecked the H1B program to be put out of business; there might be serious disruptions in the IT industry if hundreds of thousands of workers are going to be forced out; even if in a phased manner; i.e. letting folks stay till their current visas expire.
